Production Line Lead.

Location: Hobart, Indiana USA.
Hours per week: 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday.
Contract Status: Permanent.
Reporting to: Production Engineer.

The Role.

To run one Production Line ensuring maximum output, while ensuring staff follow all company policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Health and Safety, Quality, Hygiene and Production practices.

The Responsibilities.

Lead a team on one Production line only within the shift pattern worked (Line 3 – twin head, Tubers 1-3, packing line or pre-work).
Communicate a full team brief at the start of each production run to ensure awareness of all standards required and understanding of key information.
Manage and motivate the team by giving individual feedback (positive and constructive), coaching and encouraging people to achieve results that meet targets and objectives and support 'right first time', whilst adhering to all company Quality and Health and Safety policies.
Can achieve daily targets.
Monitor line efficiency against set line run rates and report hourly production figures. Communicate any inaccuracies, problems, trends, investigate and resolve issues immediately.
Monitor production yields, ensuring details are recorded for short falls i.e. bottles, caps, labels, outers and bulk liquid.
Identify training needs, organize and follow up on appropriate training and development in order to develop and maintain the appropriate skills within the tea
Identify any quality issues and raise immediately to the Production Engineer and any re-work undertaken must be communicated through the correct channels of management and documentation completed accurately.
Carry out weight checks in line with average fill legislation ensuring details are recorded and any anomalies are communicated and resolved immediately.
Carry out attribute checks in line with customer standards ensuring all details are recorded and any non-conformance are resolved satisfactorily.
Carry out and complete all paperwork assigned with each job, i.e., Job Bag, filling out efficiency sheet, packing efficiency sheet, pallet sheet, pallet handover sheet, pick sheet, line return sheet
Maintain and improve housekeeping/hygiene levels.

Any other duties as required as set out by the Production Engineer.

The Skills.

At least five years of production line experience in a related industry.
Experience in a supervisory role preferred.
Exceptional organization, leadership and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
The ability to communicate effectively at all levels on an internal and external basis according to company and production needs.
