Laboratory Technician.

Location: Cleckheaton, BD19 4TT.
Hours per week: 24 - 40 hours per week [Mon-Sat]
Contract Status: 6-month fixed-term.
Upon the successful completion of the fixed-term contract, there may be an opportunity for a full-time role within the team, subject to performance and business requirements.
Reporting to: Head of Formulation.

The Role.

The Formulation Technician will contribute hands-on to the development of innovative cosmetic formulations. Working closely with Development Chemists, you will help prepare lab batches to meet customer specifications and support various technical functions within the laboratory environment.

The Responsibilities.

Assist Development Chemists in creating lab batches of cosmetic formulations that align with customer briefs.
Execute tasks following the weekly laboratory plan.
Label, dispatch, and ensure quality control of SEAL samples for cosmetic formulations.
Manage the collection, ordering, and labelling of raw materials from internal and external sources for lab batches.
Maintain laboratory hygiene and good laboratory practices (GLP), including calibrating equipment and managing lab consumables.
Perform administrative duties related to batch paperwork, including recording results and methods and managing sample retention.
Perform COSHH assessments on raw materials and contribute to the lab’s safety culture.
Support the Development, Process, or Regulatory technical functions as required.

The Skills.

Proven laboratory experience, preferably in the personal care or cosmetic industry.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and GLP.
Proficient in conducting various tests and preparing detailed reports.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Team player with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Proactive and eager to take on new challenges.
