Creams

Creamy, Good, Good.

Creams are typically oil-in-water (O/W) or water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions. The oil phase is dispersed in the water phase in O/W emulsions, making them lighter, while in W/O emulsions, water is dispersed in oil, making them richer and more emollient. Emulsifiers are critical to maintain the stability of these emulsions. Creams provide a balance between moisture and nourishment, suitable for various skin types depending on the oil-to-water ratio. They are effective in delivering hydration and active ingredients deep into the skin, making them ideal for a multitude of skincare concerns including moisturisation, anti-aging, acne and sensitivity management products. The rich texture helps in forming a barrier that locks in moisture and protects the skin through wash-off or leave-on products. Creams can be used in hair conditioners, hair masks, leave-in treatments and styling to provide smoothness, shine, definition, repair and hydration.

Gels

I Don’t Think You’re Ready For This Gel(ly).

Gels are usually water-based formulations that incorporate gelling agents like cellulose, carbomer, xanthan gum or silica to create a jelly-like consistency. They may also contain humectants like glycerin to attract moisture. Gels are lightweight, non-greasy, and easily absorbed, making them ideal for oily and acne-prone skin. They are excellent for soothing irritated skin, delivering hydration, or as a base for active ingredients like salicylic acid in acne management. In haircare, gels can be used for cleansing systems such as shampoos and co-washes or styling, helping define and manage condition.

Milks & Lotions

It Rubs The Lotions On Its Skin.

These are oil-in-water emulsions with a higher water content than creams, resulting in a lighter texture. They typically contain emulsifiers, humectants, and emollients. Milks and lotions are lighter than creams, making them suitable for daily moisturisation and quick absorption. They are effective in wash-off or leave-on products, delivering hydration, cleansing and skin softening properties without leaving a greasy residue. Ideal for normal to slightly dry skin. In haircare, milks and lotions can act as lightweight leave-in conditioners, detanglers or styling products providing moisture without weighing down the hair.

Butters & Balms

Build Me Up Buttercup.

Butters and balms are typically anhydrous (water-free) formulations made from oils, butters, fats and waxes. They are solid at room temperature but melt upon contact with the skin. They provide intense moisture and form a protective barrier on the skin. Butters and balms are highly emollient and nourishing, ideal for cleansing as well as protecting very dry or chapped skin. They are often used in products targeting areas needing extra moisture like elbows, knees, and lips. These textures are used in deep-conditioning treatments and hair masks to provide intense hydration and repair to dry, damaged hair.

Water-Based

Water Way To Have A Good Time.

Water-based formulations are primarily composed of water and are often found in washes, micellar waters, gels, serums and  essences. They offer lightweight hydration and are suitable for all skin types, particularly oily and acne-prone skin in both wash-off and leave-on formats. Water-based products provide hydration without a heavy feel, ideal for layering under other products. They are also good vehicles for water-soluble active ingredients, such as Hyaluronic Acid or Vitamin C. In haircare, water-based products like sprays and lightweight conditioners hydrate and refresh the hair without build-up, as well as targeted treatments for eyelash and eyebrow growth.

Oil-Based

Liquid Gold.

Oil-based formulations typically contain natural oils and emollients without water. They are often richer and more nourishing. Oil-based products offer deep nourishment and long-lasting moisture, making them suitable for dry skin. They are effective in barrier repair and deep hydration, often used in night treatments and dry skin formulations. In haircare, oils are used for sealing in moisture, adding shine, and improving condition. They are excellent for scalp treatments and pre-wash oiling.

Multi-Phase

A World Of Pure Imagination.

Multi-phase products consist of at least two separate layers, usually an oil phase and a water phase, that need to be shaken before use to mix. They combine the benefits of both oil and water-based ingredients, providing hydration and nourishment. Multi-phase products are often used in makeup removers and treatments that require both phases to deliver a balanced hydration and cleansing. In haircare, multi-phase products can be used as leave-in conditioners, scalp and hair serums that provide moisture, shine and stimulation without heaviness.

Bars & Sticks

So Solid Crews.

Bars and sticks are solid formulations made from a mixture of oils, waxes, and butters. They are anhydrous and often incorporate solidifying agents like sunflower wax. They are convenient, portable, and often have a long shelf life and minimise packaging waste. These products are effective for targeted application and are often used in moisturisers, sunscreens, and deodorants providing a concentrated dose of active ingredients.

New Formats

What’s This?!

A quick search of “texture” or “format” in Mintel Insights will yield an abundance of listings about innovative launches offering sensory experiences designed to connect customers with products and brands.

A rising trend is to innovate with textures, which can evoke excitement and fun in consumers and create an opportunity to boost the product’s benefits with enhanced claims, such as cooling and hydrating. Oil textures are also appealing as they are perceived as more gentle and nourishing, making them ideal for inclusion in personal care products.  The combination of an oil-in-gel hybrid format provides the ingredients needed to create a recipe with engaging textures and formats. Whatever sensorial adventure you want to rake your audience on, let’s talk; a revolutionary idea is only a conversation away.

Texture.

How Do You Want To Feel?

Texture is a narrative for modern beauty consumers. How a product feels will determine how a consumer thinks about the product. Triggering various sensations, responses, and emotions is crucial in consumer engagement and product differentiation. It is a subtle yet profound way to articulate the essence of the product, contributing substantially to consumer attraction and brand identity. Using texture to build your product narrative can be challenging. What a gloss texture is to you might be matte to someone else, so establishing a common language for product development is essential.  Explore our range of delivery mechanisms and the technologies they unlock.

Want to create a new sensation? Let’s talk. We offer access to a broad range of product formats and textures, so however you want your consumers to feel, we can help you connect.

Acne + Breakouts

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, 85% of people will experience acne. The visible nature of acne and the subsequent symptoms and sequelae contribute to the issue’s overall physical and psychological burden. Understanding the blemish life cycle can help brands develop targeted solutions for each phase, creating a complete and effective skincare regimen. For the initiation phase, gentle exfoliants, cleansers, and antibacterial agents can reduce pore-clogging and bacterial growth. Products with anti-inflammatory, spot, and immune-supporting ingredients can relieve symptoms and fight infections during maturation. Finally, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and retinoids can improve recovery by promoting skin healing, barrier restoration, and scar reduction during resolution. The new emphasis on self-care, skincare, and wellness has placed renewed focus on the once-sleepy acne category and has pushed brands to create innovative and effective acne fighters with a more positive and fun approach.

Ageing

Youth Is Wasted On The Young.

Having stood at $194.4 billion in 2020, the global anti-ageing market is set to be worth more than $422.8 billion by 2030. From using retinoids for boosting collagen and cell turnover, and incorporating antioxidants like vitamins C and E to combat oxidative stress to hydrate with hyaluronic acid and moisturise to lock in moisture. Peptides and growth factors help repair skin, while regular exfoliation with AHAs and BHAs removes dead cells. Apply broad-spectrum SPF daily to protect against UV damage. Niacinamide improves elasticity and reduces inflammation. The conversations surrounding ageing are undoubtedly changing from communication which focuses on eradicating all signs of getting older and instead promoting the notion of being in harmony with one’s age, its visible signs, and its effects.

Dry & Dehydrated Skin

No Drought.

Since the human body is composed of more than 60% water (adults), and the skin comprises approximately 65%-70% water, maintaining healthy hydration of the body is vital for helping to maintain hydrated skin. From using humectants to attract moisture for dehydrated skin, and incorporating emollients to nourish dry skin, to using occlusives to seal in hydration, ceramides and fatty acids enhance the skin barrier and gentle exfoliation to improve moisture absorption for dehydrated skin. Understanding skin hydration and the mechanisms of skin moisturisation is a complicated one, but with your passion and our expertise, we can build something beautiful.

Dullness, Glow & Brightening

Glowing All The Way.

Skincare is the fastest growing market segment in the beauty industry, according to Statista the revenue in the Skincare segment amounts to US$19.92bn in 2022 and the market is expected to grow annually by 3.91% (CAGR 2022-2027). Glowing, healthy skin will always be in vogue, that much is certain. A healthy, balanced complexion has a radiant, lit-from-within glow, a healthy skin barrier, rapid cell turnover, and adequate moisture levels are all necessary for radiant skin. From using brightening agents like kojic acid and arbutin to enhance radiance, and incorporating exfoliants like lactic acid and mandelic acid to remove dead skin cells and reveal a fresher complexion, to using hydrating ingredients like glycerin and hyaluronic acid for a dewy glow. Antioxidants like vitamin E and ferulic acid protect against oxidative stress, while peptides improve skin tone and texture. We’ve got the expertise to engage your audience of “glow-getters” and communicate your brand vision.

Redness & Rosacea

Treat People With Kindness.

Redness or inflammation is the result of how the immune system responds to external or internal injury to skin. Rosacea is a common, chronic skin condition that causes redness, visible blood vessels, affecting 1 in 10 people in the UK. Offering formulations with anti-inflammatory ingredients to soothe irritation, incorporate barrier-strengthening agents such as ceramides and niacinamide and use calming materials to reduce redness. Azelaic acid is very useful for managing rosacea symptoms, while gentle moisturisers prevent further dryness and irritation and leveraging mineral-based SPF products to shield skin from UV damage. Your audience trusts you to help them manage their skincare journey, with your creativity and our expertise, we can treat their skin with kindness.

Hyperpigmentation / Uneven Skin Tone

Love The Skin You’re In.

Hyperpigmentation occurs when the skin produces excess melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour. Melanogenesis begins with the activation of melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) receptors by UV radiation or hormones triggering enzymatic reactions involving tyrosinase and other enzymes, converting tyrosine into melanin. Melanin is then deposited into melanosomes within melanocytes and transferred to keratinocytes, distributing melanin throughout the epidermis. This increased melanin production and distribution lead to dark spots and uneven skin tone. Use brightening agents like licorice root extract and alpha arbutin to reduce dark spots, and incorporate antioxidants like resveratrol and niacinamide to combat oxidative stress. Ingredients like tranexamic acid and kojic acid help inhibit melanin production, while vitamin C and ferulic acid protect against further pigmentation. Retinoids and niacinamide even out skin tone, while sunscreens with zinc oxide protect against UV-induced pigmentation. So whether you’re managing  age spots, melasma or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation we’ve got the expertise to engage your audience and elevate your brand.

Sensitivity

Why So Sensitive?

The Global Sensitive Skincare Products Market Size is expected to reach $90.53 Billion by 2032, at a CAGR of 7.3% during the forecast period 2023 to 2032 fueled increasing incidences of skin sensitivities due to environmental factors and changing lifestyles, consumer demand for hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and dermatologist-tested skincare solutions is on the rise. From using soothing agents like bisabolol to calm irritation, and incorporating barrier-strengthening ingredients like colloidal oatmeal to using gentle emollients like avocado oil for nourishment. Mandelic acid  and Centella asiatica (Pennywort extract) reduce inflammation and redness, while glycerin and zinc  hyaluronate hydrates without causing irritation. Avoid harsh and physical exfoliants, opting instead for mild ones like lactic acid to prevent further sensitivity. With over 4000 raw materials and our expert team behind you, we can give your brand the products to look after more sensitive souls.

Environmental Protection

Let’s Go Outside.

Environmental stressors can have a tremendous effect on the skin. Knowing when your environment could impact your skin, and how to protect yourself, is important. Factors like UV radiation, pollution, temperature, humidity, blue light, and wind can cause skin ageing, dryness, irritation, acne, and damage. From using antioxidants like green tea extract and vitamin C to combat free radicals, and incorporating physical blockers like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide to protect against UV rays, to using blue light protectors like lutein and silver birch extract. Botanical extracts like ginkgo biloba and algae provide additional defence against pollutants. Apply daily protective serums to shield skin from environmental aggressors. Our team can build a product journey that delivers  a robust defence against environmental damage and maintaining healthy, radiant skin.

Scarring

Your Imperfections Make You Beauty.

The global topical scar treatment market size was estimated at $1.52 billion in 2023 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.8% from 2024 to 2030.

Some of the most recognisable skincare ingredients to reduce the appearance of scars are collagen-boosting actives such as Retinol (vitamin A), Niacinamide (vitamin B) and Salicylic acid. Niacinamide and Retinol both help produce more protein and collagen which minimises the appearance of scar tissue by densifying the skin underneath, while Salicylic acid removes the top layer of skin cells to reveal newer, smoother skin underneath. Retinol is also a powerful surface cell-turnover activator, helping to smooth the surface of the skin, helping to make scarring less noticeable. Being able to support consumers and manage such an emotive issue is an act of love and through collaborating with us, we can give your audience the skin they deserve.

Firming

Give Yourself A Little Love.

While skin naturally loses elasticity with age, skin tightening topicals offer a non-invasive solution that’s easily accessible.. These products are designed for the delicate face, neck, and chest areas, and many formulations are effective for the entire body, helping you achieve a more youthful appearance wherever you need it. From using ingredients peptides and retinoids to boost collagen production, and incorporating antioxidants like coenzyme Q10 and vitamin C to combat free radicals, to using fibroblast stimulating actives to upregulate dermal structural protein synthesis. Growth factors to improve skin elasticity and texture, while gentle exfoliation with lactic acid enhances cell turnover. With over 4000 raw materials and our expert team behind you, we can give your brand the products to put a spring in your audiences skin.

Eczema & Psoriasis Management

Soothe The Skin & The Soul.

With the management of Atopic Dermatitis market being worth $6.10 billion and a CAGR growth of 15.2%, topical management of these conditions that spark joy as well as delivering results is top-of-mind for affected consumers. Eczema is characterised by red, itchy, inflamed skin, often triggered by irritants and common in children. Psoriasis presents as thick, red patches with silvery scales, is autoimmune, and affects adults. Both are chronic, inflammatory conditions involving immune responses. From using soothing ingredients like colloidal oatmeal and calendula (sunflower) extract  to calm inflammation, and incorporating emollients like shea butter and squalane  to repair the skin barrier, to using occlusives like shea butter to lock in moisture. Ceramides strengthen the skin’s barrier function, while gentle cleansers maintain skin hydration without stripping. Whilst cosmetics aren’t medicines, we have the skills to develop topical management strategies to make every soul feel soothed.

Skin Barrier Damage

The Great Barrier.

Many chronic skin disorders, such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis, are linked to impaired skin barrier function, characterised by redness, flakes, cracks, and rough texture. Epidermal inflammation can further weaken the barrier, increasing transepidermal water loss (TEWL). The skin barrier, comprising corneocytes and a lipid-rich matrix in the stratum corneum, prevents harmful agents from entering while retaining moisture. Environmental factors, genetics, and inflammation can impair the barrier, activating itch-associated nerve fibres and perpetuating the itch-scratch cycle. To reduce skin barrier damage, focus on gentle skincare routines. Use a mild cleanser to avoid stripping natural oils. Incorporate products with ceramides to rebuild the lipid barrier, niacinamide for its anti-inflammatory properties, and hyaluronic acid for hydration. Use a rich, fragrance-free moisturiser with shea butter and squalane. Avoid harsh exfoliants; opt for lactic acid instead. Protect your skin with broad-spectrum sunscreen and incorporate antioxidants like vitamins C and E. Consistent use of these products will help restore and maintain a healthy skin barrier.

Keratosis Pilaris

Take The Rough With The Smooth.

Managing Keratosis Pilaris (KP) involves gentle exfoliation and intense hydration to smooth and soften the skin. KP, a common, benign genetic skin disorder affecting 30-50% of those with a family history, is characterised by rough bumps on the skin caused by dead skin cells clogging hair follicles, often appearing on the legs and arms. Use products with alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) like glycolic or lactic acid and beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs) like salicylic acid to exfoliate and reduce bumps and redness. Apply a moisturiser with urea or lactic acid daily to maintain hydration and exfoliation. Emollients like glycerin and shea butter lock in moisture, while ceramides and hyaluronic acid help repair and strengthen the skin barrier. Avoid harsh soaps and hot showers, opting for mild, hydrating cleansers. Consistent use of these products will improve KP over time.

Cellulite

Everyone’s Got It.

Cellulite occurs when subcutaneous fat lobules herniate through the dermo-hypodermal junction due to the retraction of stiffened collagen septa. This condition affects individuals regardless of weight, though increased fat cell formation can worsen it. Cellulite involves the microcirculatory system, lymphatics, extracellular matrix, and excess subcutaneous fat bulging into the dermis. Effective management includes topical treatments, lifestyle changes, and consistent care. Use creams with caffeine to improve circulation and reduce dimples and retinol to boost collagen production. Peptides strengthen the skin, while hyaluronic acid and glycerin hydrate and plump it. Regular exfoliation with AHAs or BHAs enhances product penetration. Massage techniques stimulate blood flow and lymphatic drainage. Maintain a healthy diet rich in antioxidants, exercise regularly, and stay hydrated for overall skin health.

Stretch Marks

Proof of Growth.

Stretch marks are visible linear scars caused by excessive skin stretching, resulting in dermal damage and alterations in the extracellular matrix (ECM) components such as fibrillin, elastin, fibronectin, and collagen. They arise from pregnancy, puberty, rapid body size changes, weight lifting, obesity, or significant weight loss. Effective management includes products that enhance skin elasticity and hydration. Creams and oils rich in vitamin E support skin repair, hyaluronic acid for moisture, and retinoids like retinol stimulate collagen production. Ingredients like Centella asiatica improve skin elasticity, while shea and cocoa butters provide deep hydration. Consistent application, ideally twice daily, and gentle exfoliation with AHAs like glycolic acid can enhance active ingredient absorption. Staying hydrated and maintaining a balanced diet rich in vitamins A, C, and E further support skin health and elasticity.

Shine

Shine Bright Like A Diamond.

Shiny hair signals health and youthfulness. Yet myriad factors can influence the hair’s overall lustre; the effects of fading colour, heat styling, or hard water can also take their toll, stripping strands of their shine. Consumers’ demand for shiny and healthy hair, coupled with the skinification of hair care, inspires a new generation of hair shine products.

While shine-boosting hair care products have traditionally performed like make-up, altering the appearance of the hair at the surface, there is an opportunity for brands to offer shine-enhancing products with hair health in mind. Developing moisture-locking, leave-in formulas to provide lasting shine and vitality. Building multi-purpose, shine-enhancing styling formulas that also provide a protective shield against environmental aggressors. Create deep-acting hair cuticle treatments to awaken dull hair and revive hair shine. Design pre- and post-shower hair coating treatments that add high shine and intensely soften for revived healthy hair. Consider nourishing and protecting hair rinses that improve hair’s shine and health. Detox formulas that remove dirt, oil, and product build-up for healthy and super-shiny hair are desired.

However you want to care for your audience, we’ve got the expertise to help you create shine-enhancing haircare that cares.

Smooth

You’ve Been Hit By A Smooth Criminal.

Smooth hair is often linked to beauty and sophistication, but humidity, heat styling, excessive cleansing, and hard water can cause frizz and roughness.

Traditional smoothing products offer short-term fixes, masking the problem. Brands have the potential to create products that improve hair health and provide lasting smoothness. This involves formulating leave-in treatments for deep nourishment, developing styling products that protect against environmental damage, and designing treatments that strengthen the cuticle. Pre- and post-wash treatments can also enhance smoothness and protection.

No matter the hair goal, we have the knowledge and experience to assist you in creating hair-smoothing products that go beyond looks and focus on promoting healthy hair.

Repair

I Will Try To Fix You.

Hair faces stressors like product build-up, environmental factors, and frequent styling, leading to damage and protein loss. With hair health a priority, protein-based ingredients are essential for locking in keratin and amino acids, strengthening bonds, repairing breakage, and enhancing smoothness and shine. Hair comprises 95% keratin, which doesn’t regenerate, so replenishment is crucial. Animal-derived (collagen, keratin) and plant-based (wheat, soy, rice) proteins can penetrate the cortex, fill gaps, strengthen hair, and maintain elasticity and hydration.

These proteins and bond-builder technologies can be used in formulations to restore keratin, strengthen and repair damaged, textured, or brittle hair, and develop targeted treatments for natural and textured hair.

Moisturisation & Hydration

Drink It In.

Dehydrated hair is lacking in water within the hair shaft itself. In contrast, dry hair often can’t retain its moisture levels due to external aggressors such as exposure to the sun, extreme heat, excessive styling, and chemical treatments. Hydrating strands are, therefore, all about increasing the moisture content within the hair; in turn, you need to lock in this moisture with products that will help retain and prevent water loss.

Hydration, on the other hand, refers to water retention in the inner layers of the strand. Whilst you can’t over-hydrate your hair, dehydrated hair lacks shine, is brittle, and quickly becomes frizzy.

Moisturisation is all about the water on your hair’s outer layer, regulated by natural oils. Under-moisturised hair will be dull, with split ends; over-moisturised hair can appear limp and overly soft, with little volume or definition, from using humectants like panthenol to attract moisture to the hair and incorporating emollients like argan oil and murumuru butter to moisturise and smooth, to using vegetable protein complexes to lock in hydration. Peptides and quinoa extracts strengthen hair fibres, while gentle exfoliation with fruit enzymes removes buildup and enhances moisture penetration.

Volume

Pump Up The Volume.

Consumers use their hair to express their personality; when there isn’t as much hair as they’d like, they feel less than themselves.

Hair volume is how much body hair has, typically thought of as how much lift there is at the root, how full hair appears, and how thick it feels. Natural volume is determined by how many hair follicles grow per square inch of area on one’s scalp and the thickness of those follicles, from using volumizing materials like hydrolyzed vegetable proteins and starches to lift and strengthen hair to using natural, semi- and synthetic film-formers to enhance body and fullness. Sea kelp extract and biotin fortify hair strands, salts and natural clays to add body to the hair. There is a product strategy to help them live their best hair life to the fullest, and we can build it together.

Growth

From Tiny Acorns, Great Oaks Will Grow.

According to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF), over 147 million people worldwide suffer from alopecia, and over 50% of males and females experience pattern baldness. The global hair regrowth treatment market will grow at a CAGR of 3.56% in the coming years.

Hair cycles through four phases: growing, transitional, resting, and shedding up to 100 hair strands daily is normal; problems arise when hair isn’t replaced promptly or excessive shedding occurs. Hair loss can be due to genetics, hormones, lifestyle changes, stress, pregnancy, and ageing. Minoxidi-like active ingredients enhance scalp circulation, delivering oxygen and nutrients to follicles. Peptides stimulate collagen production and reduce inflammation, enhancing follicle activity. Further, treatments featuring ingredients that block the production of DHT (dihydrotestosterone, a hormone similar to testosterone, which is thought to contribute to hair loss in both men and women) are increasingly used to prevent hair loss. There is now a more comprehensive range of topical strategies to help combat and delay hair loss; together, we can help your audience keep their hair.

Thickening

Make The Most Of What You’ve Got.

The amount of hair follicles we’re born with is entirely out of our control, leaving us with few methods to experience different levels of hair thickness. If you have fine hair and long for thick, luscious locks, you may wonder if hair-thickening products work. Many products are available for instantly thicker, bouncy locks, from sprays to shampoos. Biotin and keratin strengthen hair strands, and volumising agents like hydrolysed vegetable proteins and pea peptides add body to plant-based polymers like hydroxypropyl starch to provide thickness and texture. Scalp Care

Look After The Soil.

Hair health starts at the very beginning – the follicle. The scalp can be seen as an extension of the face. It contains more oil and sweat glands than any other skin area, as each hair follicle is attached to a sebaceous gland. It’s like a mini ecosystem that supports the hair follicles.

According to Mintel, specialised scalp-care innovations and extra steps (such as serums, exfoliators, and rinse-off/leave-in products) in the scalp-care routine are emerging. Furthermore, 47% of consumers in China believe that having a healthy scalp is a significant contributor to healthy hair. A strong interest in scalp scrubs and micellar shampoos is a crucial indicator that scalp care products have the potential to disrupt and reshape the haircare regimen. Signs of an unhealthy scalp typically are itching, irritation, sensitivity, flaking, redness and breakouts.

Another symptom is an excessively oily scalp caused by an overproduction of sebum due to various factors (lifestyle, genetics, environment). Like the skin, the scalp is populated with various microorganisms, termed the scalp microbiome. The microenvironment (pH, sebum content, moisture, topography) determines the microbiome’s composition. It comprises a complex community of microorganisms growing on the scalp in a symbiotic, commensal or pathogenic form that produces molecules that can benefit the scalp’s health. Any modification of the ecosystem can unbalance it and lead to adverse reactions. Balanced sebum production and no inflammation and irritation contribute to a healthy scalp microbiome. With over 4000 raw materials and our expert team behind you, we can give your brand the products to help your audiences look after the (scalp) soil so great things can grow.

Oil Control

Balance Is Everything.

Greasy hair and an oily scalp can ruin even good hair days. Typically, the sebaceous glands’ oil, or sebum, moisturises hair follicles and protects them from infection, but excessive production of oil on the scalp can weigh hair down and lead to the appearance of greasy hair.

Using natural astringents like witch hazel extract to reduce scalp oiliness and incorporating sebum-regulating ingredients like zinc PCA to balance oil production, and adsorbents like kaolin clay and rice starch to control excess oil in dry shampoo formats. Willow bark extract helps exfoliate and unclog pores, while lightweight hydration like aloe vera maintains scalp health without adding grease. From pre-treatment to aftercare products, we’ve got the expertise to bring your audience’s hair and scalp into balance.

Curl Maintenance

Who’s That Wonderful Curl?!

In a world where more than 60% of the population has natural curls, coils, or waves, the textured hair community is a global one that cannot be ignored.

With the natural hair movement revving up since the 2000s and pushed mainly by social media, more people across the globe are embracing their natural hair texture. Natural hairstyles such as locks, twists, and braids have become synonymous with creativity and symbols of freedom. This is a positive movement for the hair industry, allowing it to further address hair diversity and inclusion.

While global innovation and formal research of products for textured hair were limited, brands are now taking the textured hair community’s needs seriously by providing broader product offerings that address the needs of multiple hair textures. Whatever your audience’s heritage and how they want to express themselves, whether co-washing, conditioning, priming, moisturising or protecting, our formulation expertise and your creativity can give them a good hair day every day.

Colour Maintenance

A Life In Technicolour

Caring for coloured hair requires gentle, nourishing products to maintain vibrancy and prevent damage. Use sulphate-free shampoos and protective gloss conditioners to avoid stripping. Colour-protecting ingredients like sunflower seed extract and UV filters guard against fading from sun exposure. Deep conditioning treatments with hydrolysed protein, keratin and bond-builder technologies strengthen hair and restore moisture. For styling, opt for heat protectants containing hemisqualane to shield hair from thermal damage. Regular hair masks with coconut or avocado oil can help maintain softness and shine. Leave-in conditioners with hydrolyzed quinoa or soy proteins enhance colour retention and manageability. Violet Dyes will help keep the bottle blonde-free from brassy tones. However your audience wants to express themselves, our partnership ensures that their hair colour will make an impact.

Silver Maintenance

White Light / White Heat.

Caring for grey and silver hair involves maintaining its health and enhancing its natural beauty. Use shampoos and conditioners specifically formulated for grey hair, which often contain violet or blue pigments to neutralise yellowing and enhance shine. Look for products with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin to combat dryness and maintain moisture. For styling, use leave-in conditioners or serums with triglycerides or squalane to add shine and smoothness without weighing the hair down. Incorporate UV protectants to shield hair from sun damage, which can cause discoloration. Weekly deep conditioning treatments with ingredients like shea butter or seaweed extracts to  help maintain softness and manageability. Additionally, consider products with panthenol and biotin to strengthen hair and prevent breakage. Regardless of their hair journey, together we can give  your community a good hair day, everyday!
