Quality Assurance, Health & Safety Manager

Orean is seeking a dual-focused Quality Assurance & Health and Safety Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Global Quality Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining our high standards of product excellence while leading a robust safety culture across all sites.

This is a dynamic leadership position that combines technical oversight of quality systems with the strategic management of occupational health and safety. You will be responsible for line-managing a dedicated team, including IPCs, QA Analysts, and a Health & Safety Officer.

The Responsibilities.

Quality Assurance.

• Manage Quality Complaints and Incidents systems, leading investigations and customer communication.
• Oversee the quarantine management process, including action tracking, reporting, and final approval.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits in collaboration with the audit and Global Quality manager.
• Manage specialist external testing (e.g. assay testing).
• Maintain calibration schedules for all analytical and quality equipment.
• Line-manage a small team of IPCs and QA Analysts, providing day-to-day support and conducting regular one-to-one meetings.
• Support Operations with quality investigations and continuous improvement activities.

Health & Safety

• Lead and oversee Health & Safety compliance across all sites.
• Support H&S investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action management.
• Conduct and review risk assessments, including Fire, Legionella, LOLER, fire doors, PUWER, FAT, and COSHH.
• Work with Engineering and Operations teams to manage safety assessments and actions.
• Promote a positive Health & Safety culture through engagement, training, and site presence.
• Chair Health & Safety meetings and conduct site inspections and Gemba walks.
• Line-manage the Health & Safety Officer.
• Support the maintenance of ISO 45001 accreditation.

The Skills.

• Experience in lead auditing, ideally for ISO 9001 and 45001.
• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in medical devices, personal care, chemical or pharmaceutical.
• Experiences dealing with customers face-to-face.
• Drive to change culture from top to bottom of the business.
• Some experience managing direct reports.
